20 September 2004 LAWFUEL – Best for law news, legal, attorney, law firm, legal research Herbert Smith’s Paris office has strengthened its competition law department with the arrival of Dominique Brault as consultant in community and French
competition law.
Dominique Brault has been an important player in the development of French
and community competition law for a number of years, and has been involved
in the drafting of the current French competition laws.
Brault was notably appointed as Deputy Director for Consumer and Competition
Affairs with the Finance Ministry, and was “General Rapporteur” with the
Competition Commission for eight years. He has also worked on the drafting
of reform of competition law in a dozen foreign countries.
Paris-based partner Jacques Buhart commented:

A graduate of ENA and a member of the Paris Bar, Dominique Brault is also
the author of a number of works on community and French competition law,
including “Politique et pratique du Droit de la concurrence en France,”
published in June 2004. He has also been an associate professor of law at
the University Paris V – René Descartes.
