London – LAWFUEL – UK Law + Business – DLA Piper has acted for Invista Real Estate Invesment Management on behalf of their clients, St James’s Place UK plc, on the purchase for in excess of £40 million, of five logistics/distribution hubs used to service the NHS. These five properties have now been let to Exel Europe Limited, the trading name for DHL. This leasing is crucial in allowing DHL to successfully operate NHS Supply Chain, and deliver all the procurement and logistics services for over 600 hospitals in England.
Catherine Usher, a real estate partner at DLA Piper commented: “We were delighted to secure this successful purchase and lease arrangement from St James’s Place in such a timely manner. This is a small component of much larger arrangements to facilitate the new outsourcing deal, but no less important.”
Paul Jayson, an associate at DLA Piper worked on the deal. Brabners Street Chaffe acted for DHL/Exel and Freshfields acted for the NHS.
