DAYTON, Ohio– LAWFUEL – Legal News First –LexisNexis today announced an alliance with Dow Jones to produce the newest offering law firms can use to stay current on important news affecting their practices.
LexisNexis® Continuous Alerts, powered by Factiva® from Dow Jones, provides to legal professionals continuously updated crucial news, such as mergers and acquisitions, Initial Public Offerings, national litigation and other vital information.
“To stay competitive, attorneys need up-to-the-minute news,” said Renee Citera, vice president and general manager, LexisNexis® Research Solutions. “Continuous Alerts meet this need by delivering news to the user’s e-mail.”
Continuous Alerts is the result of a development alliance between LexisNexis and Dow Jones to create a custom application for the legal market. Users link to the application from a new Continuous Alerts sub-tab on the alert tab of lexis.com®. From there, they are taken to a co-branded site to set up and manage their search. Once the search is created, new results will be e-mailed to the users within minutes of the results being published on Dow Jones’ Factiva product.
“This alliance is the most logical step in the already robust relationship between LexisNexis and Dow Jones,” said Tom Waite, vice president of partners and alliances, Dow Jones Enterprise Media Group. “It’s another example of how two leaders in the information industry can join forces to provide an unbeatable service.”
Other benefits of the service include:
BlackBerry® compatibility so attorneys can receive alerts on the move
Access to thousands of sources, including The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires
Filtering abilities to avoid receiving recurring or republished information
High, medium and low relevancy settings can be established by the user
LexisNexis Continuous Alerts, powered by Factiva from Dow Jones, is just one of the many offerings of LexisNexis® Total Practice Solutions, the company’s overarching portfolio of solutions to help lawyers and law firms succeed in the business and practice of law.
