LAWFUEL – Canada Law News – A Calgary law firm has filed an Alberta-wide lawsuit on behalf of pet owners who say their animals fell ill after eating tainted food.
At least six other class-action lawsuits have been filed against Ontario-based Menu Foods. Lawyer Clint Docken says people who have lost pets have been calling his firm asking what they can do.
He says a class-action lawsuit seemed “logical.”
The suit will seek compensation for people who have rising vet bills after their pets got sick eating Menu Foods products.
Two Toronto law firms jointly filed a proposed class action March 22, while a Windsor, Ont., firm filed a notice the day before.
