DALLAS – LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire – Haynes and Boone Partner Don Templin, who has spent more than 30 years litigating business disputes and counseling clients on intellectual property matters, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Mr. Templin accepted the honor at the recent 2007 Spring Meeting of the college in La Quinta, Calif.
Founded in 1950, the college is composed of the best of the U.S. and Canadian trial bars and is widely recognized as one of the premier legal association in North America. Fellowships are extended to experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years trial experience before being considered for fellowship.
Mr. Templin, who is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, has headed the Haynes and Boone Business Litigation section and practices in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, handling patent, trademark and copyright issues. He is also a senior member of the firm’s First Amendment and media defense practice.
Last year, American Lawyer Media named him one of the Best Lawyers in America for intellectual property matters, and Woodward/White, Inc. designated him one of the Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation.
Mr. Templin took his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma in 1970, and his B.A. from Yale University in 1967.
The American College of Trial Lawyers is made up of about 5,600 members, including active, emeritus, judicial and honorary fellows. The college works to improve and elevate the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the trial profession.
Qualified lawyers are called to the fellowship from all branches of trial practice. They are carefully selected from among those who customarily represent plaintiffs in civil cases, defense attorneys and prosecutors, giving the college a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and administration of justice.
