Lawfuel – The Law Newswire – The Phil Spector murder trial has been delayed through a mystery illness that befell lawyer Bruce Cutler today.
Spector’s lawyer sought urgent medical attention for the illness yesterday, according to officials at Los Angeles Superior Court.
No details about Cutler’s illness were given in court. Reached later by phone, Reuters reported that he declined to discuss his illness in detail but said he expected to be back in court on Wednesday after some medical tests.
“I think it’s the kryptonite,” Cutler joked in reference to the fictional substance that renders comic book superhero Superman helpless.
It had already been decided the court would not sit today because protests by immigration reform campaigners are expected to cause congestion around the court building.
