New York/Washington, June 1, 2007 – LAWFUEL – The Law Firm News Wire – Dewey Ballantine LLP, a leading international law firm, announced today that Todd McArthur has joined the firm’s Tax Department as a partner resident in the Washington, D.C. office. Mr. McArthur joins the firm from the tax practice of KPMG LLP where he was a principal. He has more than 15 years of experience advising clients on transactional tax and tax controversy matters. Prior to joining KPMG in 2002, he was a partner at King & Spalding.

Commenting on his arrival at the firm, McArthur said, “Dewey Ballantine’s preeminence in the tax arena dates back to the time of its founding nearly 100 years ago. I look forward to being a part of the group’s continuing legacy.”

Mr. McArthur has extensive experience addressing partnership taxation issues. His transactional tax practice has focused on private equity transactions, strategic joint ventures, domestic and cross border partnerships, and other partnership acquisitions, dispositions and financings.

Mr. McArthur received a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1985. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1990, where he was the managing editor of the Virginia Tax Review. Mr. McArthur is the author of Partnership Transactions – Section 751 Property, a Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) Portfolio, one of the more complicated partnership tax provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.
