LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – Scottish law firm Sheperd & Wedderburn has had a record earnings year and plans to close the gap on the firm’s three major, Scottish rivals.
Patrick Andrews, the chief executive of the Shepherd & Wedderburn, has outlined his plans to further close the gap on his three bigger rivals as annual fee income rose from £34.6 million to £39m.
In a bumper year for the Edinburgh-based practice, Andrews has announced year-on-year growth since 2000 of 14 per cent and said the firm’s assault on the lucrative London market will ensure it “reports on a significantly different business” next year.
Andrews said: “We have only been in London for five years but the pace of growth has been fantastic. There has been increased focus on our corporate finance and media and technology departments. At this time last year I said that we were planning to accelerate the future growth of the firm, and we have begun to deliver this through fantastic client work and some strategic lateral hires and internal promotions.”
