AKRON, Ohio–LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire – Stark & Knoll Co., L.P.A. announces the addition of Fairlawn resident Edward Kemp to the firm in an Of-Counsel position, where he will practice in employment and labor law, and Joel R. Aberth of Akron as Of-Counsel to support the firm’s expanding estate planning and probate practice.
Kemp, a graduate of Miami University and The Ohio State University School of Law, has practiced law since 1968. Before joining the firm, Kemp served as general counsel and vice president of Human Resources for the Akron Beacon Journal. Kemp spent his first 30 years in practice as a partner with the law firm of Roetzel & Andress, where he focused on labor and employment law. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association and Akron Bar Association.
Over the years Kemp has been active in many community organizations. Most recently he has served on the Board of Trustees for the Akron General Medical Center, the American Red Cross, and the Summit County Partnership. He is currently president of the Akron Automobile Club Board of Trustees. He also is a member of The University of Akron’s College of Business Administration’s Advancement Council.
Aberth received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University. He graduated from The University of Akron’s School of Law in 1970. Aberth’s primary practice areas include estate administration, trust administration, estate planning, probate, trust and estate taxation.
Aberth is a member of the Akron Bar Association and has previously served as President of the Probate Law Section. He is also involved in many local charitable foundations and currently serves as trustee of The Boggess Foundation, The Sanders Foundation, The McKibben Foundation, and The Smart Charitable Trust. He has served as past president and trustee of Bluecoats, Inc., a charitable organization dedicated to the Summit County Safety Forces.
