LAWFUEL – A further six arrests have been made this morning (24/8/07) as part of the operation to clamp down on those people who may have been coming to this year’s Carnival to commit crime or cause trouble.

The arrests this morning means a total of nineteen people have now been arrested as part of Razorback – the Met’s pre Notting Hill Carnival Intelligence operation.

Acting with and in support of borough colleagues this disruptive activity will continue throughout the weekend and during the Carnival itself.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Chris Allison, said:

“This morning’s raids are part of our ongoing operation to arrest or disrupt trouble makers ahead of this year’s Carnival.

“Over the course of the weekend more warrants will be executed, and where we need to people will be arrested.

“Bail conditions will be sought to further reinforce that these people should stay away from Carnival. We will do all we can to stop the small minority from spoiling this vibrant event for the thousands of people who enjoy it every year.”
