Founded in 1997 by American University law students, WEAVE works closely with adult and teen survivors of relationship violence and abuse. The organization provides an innovative range of legal, counseling, economic and educational services that leads survivors to utilize their inner and community resources, achieve safety for themselves and their children and live empowered lives.
Fernando Laguarda received the organization’s 2007 “Watts Empowerment Award,” along with Robert J. Spagnoletti, a partner with Schertler & Onorato, LLP.
