LAWFUEL – Asia Business & Law Newswire – Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP opened an office in Shanghai as part of its expansion in the Asia Pacific region.
The office brings the total number of offices in Asia Pacific to six and strengthens the firm’s capabilities in the world’s fastest-growing economy. The firm, which opened its Beijing office in 1991, was one of the first foreign law firms granted a license to operate in the People’s Republic of China.
The Shanghai office will focus on M&A, corporate finance and real estate, with Skadden partner Gregory G.H. Miao heading the corporate side and partner Ed G. Sheremeta running the office’s real estate practice.
