Law Firm Luce Forward Honoured by Affordable Housing Advocates at Fundraiser

SAN DIEGO (April 15, 2008) Lawfuel – Affordable Housing Advocates, a nonprofit legal services project dedicated to ensuring the development of critically needed affordable housing for low income people and families, today announced it will honor Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP’s affordable housing specialists at its 17th anniversary fundraiser, “Celebration of Justice.”

The event, which will take place April 30th at The Prado at Balboa Park, will recognize Luce Forward attorneys for their leadership in affordable housing and community development.

“Many affordable housing developers rely on Luce Forward attorneys for their expertise and dedication to accomplish projects properly and on time,” said Catherine Rodman, director and supervising attorney of Affordable Housing Advocates. “We selected these attorneys for this honor because our clients are the beneficiaries of their hard work. These projects wouldn’t happen but for their guidance and stewardship, and we feel it is important to acknowledge the critical role that they play.”

Luce Forward Partners Kurt Kicklighter and Darryl Steinhause have been particularly instrumental in completing the nation’s first Community-Development Initial Public Offering (CD-IPO). The Luce team partnered with community residents and the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation to develop a ground-breaking pathway for residents to purchase ownership units in Market Creek Plaza, a significant community asset. The innovative offering will be showcased at the event. Karolina Ericsson, a partner in the firm’s San Diego office, has also been heavily involved with the firm’s affordable housing practice group. More information about the project can be found at http://www.jacobsfamilyfoundation.org/news-04-09-06.html or http://www.luce.com/content.asp?link=262.

The fundraiser includes delicious fare, live music and a no host bar. Tickets for the event are $100 each. Discounts are available for group purchases: $175 for 2, $400 for 5, $750 for 10.
