Lawfuel – Royal Dutch Shell (Shell) announced on 31 March 2008 that it has outsourced a significant part of its IT Infrastructure and telecommunications services.
The services have been outsourced to three different suppliers: AT&T for network and communications, T-Systems for hosting and storage, and EDS for end user computing services and operational integration of the infrastructure services.
In one of the largest private sector outsourcings to date, the three suppliers will cover services in 140+ countries for a minimum of 5 years and the total value of the deal to the three suppliers is in excess of $4 billion.
