Anthony J. Correro, III Joins Regional Firm
NEW ORLEANS (LAWFUEL) — Anthony “Andy” J. Correro, III has joined Adams and Reese as Special Counsel with the Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group in the New Orleans office. His impressive career includes nearly 40 years of experience in the areas of corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions and banking law. He has been ranked as the number one securities lawyer in Louisiana by Chambers and Partners and is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Louisiana SuperLawyers.
Before joining Adams and Reese, Correro was a named partner with Correro Fishman Haygood Phelps Walmsley and Casteix L.L.P., and before that spent over 20 years developing the largest corporate and securities practice in Louisiana for a large regional firm.
Correro has advised clients in a vast array of securities, transactions, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance deals. He has represented more Louisiana based public companies than any other lawyer and has done over 30 Louisiana financial institution mergers as well as myriad business combination transactions in other industries.
“We are thrilled with Andy’s decision to join Adams and Reese,” said Managing Partner Charles P. Adams, Jr. “His superlative reputation and extensive experience will certainly benefit our firm’s Transactions practice, but it will also be an asset to the firm as a whole, and to our clients.”
Of his decision to join Adams and Reese, Correro says, “I have always had tremendous respect for Adams and Reese and especially the firm’s business model, which I believe to be much more progressive than other local competitors. After working in a boutique firm, I learned that in today’s complex business, you need the kind of support in all disciplines that Adams and Reese will provide.”
Correro helped bring statewide banking into Louisiana having written the Louisiana Bank Holding Company Law, and has since represented both buyers and sellers handling bank mergers throughout the state. He has served as Editor of the Louisiana Corporate Newsletter and co-editor of Basic Forms for Louisiana Corporations. Chambers and Partners has described Corerro as a “true star” among Louisiana corporate lawyers and as the “corporate go-to guy” most recently.
Correro has served on Boards of Directors of several private and public companies including Avondale Industries, Inc., Campo’s, Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. (now PHI, Inc.), the Association for Corporate Growth, T. L. James & Co., and the Louisiana Partnership for Technology and Innovation. He has also served as Chairman of the Corporate Laws Committee of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Section on Corporate and Business Law since 1998, and is a former Chairman of the Section.
For more than 25 years, Correro has been an Adjunct Faculty member of both the Tulane and LSU law schools, where he has taught the courses in Securities Regulation and Corporation Finance. He has also taught Securities Regulation at Loyola University Law School. Correro spent eight years as a member of the Planning Committee of the Tulane Corporate Law Institute.
