Eversheds Goes Dutch – Law Firm News

LawFuel – Legal Newswire – International law firm Eversheds today announced further international growth with the addition of Dutch law firm Faasen & Partners. As of 1 October 2008 the Dutch firm, which has offices in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, will operate under the new name of Eversheds Faasen as a member of Eversheds International. The new addition increases the coverage of Eversheds international to 40 offices across 25 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Faasen & Partners was founded in 2002. The firm started out with five partners and is now one of the largest new law firms in the Netherlands, specialising in corporate, finance, securities, employment and competition law, with a major part of its business including international transactions.

Commenting on the new agreement Alan Jenkins, Chairman of Eversheds, said:

“As one of the founding members of the European Union the Netherlands is a key market for Eversheds International. It has an open economy that stimulates foreign investment and is the home country of many large multinationals. Many foreign entitites have established their headquarters in the country and therefore there are many opportunties within that market.”

Rob Faasen, Managing Partner of Faasen & Partners, comments:

“We are already involved in many international transactions. Having the capabilities and resources of an international law firm like Eversheds to draw upon will be an enormous advantage for us and our clients. Being part of Eversheds will give us an even greater presence in the Netherlands and we expect our involvement in international transactions to intensify.”

Faasen & Partners has 12 partners, 45 fee-earners and 80 employees in total.
