Legal News UK – Eversheds Advises Global Health Partner On Major Swedish Move

LawFuel – Legal Jobs & Newswire – Eversheds advises Global Health Partner plc on its £65m move to Sweden
International law firm Eversheds has acted for Global Health Partner plc on its sale by way of a scheme of arrangement to a newly incorporated Swedish company, Global Health Partner AB. The deal, worth £65 million, involved delisting Global Health Partner plc from the UK and listing Global Health Partner AB in Sweden.

Global Health Partner is a secondary healthcare company, providing specialist services in four main practice areas; spinal, orthopaedic, dental and gastric advice and surgery.

David Bowcock, partner at Eversheds, led Alasdair Outhwaite, senior associate, and Lizzy Ray, trainee solicitor, on the deal.

David Bowcock said:

“This deal was interesting and complex and we think it is the first time a UK company has moved to the Swedish exchange in this way. We were able to exercise our ability to advise on new and complex transactions. This deal completion shows that there is still liquidity for deals in the healthcare sector.”
James Thornton, director of GHP plc, said:

“Eversheds has provided a fantastic service and ensured the transaction ran smoothly. The team has again demonstrated an ability to deliver a complex, cross-border transaction, whilst evidencing their expertise in the healthcare sector.”
