Businesses across the globe which specialise in clean or renewable energy and ‘green’ innovation are being invited to enter the next year’s Rosenblatt New Energy Awards, taking place at the Natural History Museum on 25 February 2009.
Nominations for the awards, which are run by Vitesse Media with Rosenblatt Solicitors, can be submitted online at ww.newenergyawards.com until Friday 12 December.
Tessa Laws, partner at Rosenblatt Solicitors, said: “Although many businesses have been hit by the credit crunch and associated economic downturn, the development and implementation of clean energy and corporate environmental policies remain critical as we approach 2020. As well as reducing carbon emissions, the use of clean energy can also help businesses reduce their costs.
“Since the first Rosenblatt New Energy Awards in February of this year, the world has changed enormously and it has been fascinating to see how business has adapted to these changes,” added Tessa.
Categories
Categories include IPO of the Year, Adviser of the Year, New Energy Rising Star, Company of the Year, Project of the Year, Investor of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Developer of the Year, Retailer of the Year and University Spin-out of the Year.
Previous winners
Winners in the 2008 awards – hosted by polar explorer and author Pen Hadow – included Marks and Spencer plc, the Mayor of Paris, the Peabody Trust and TMO Renewables, and the event took place in the energy-conscious candlelit surroundings of the Jumeirah Carlton Tower.
Traditional black bow-ties were consigned to the (recycling) bin in favour of green ones, music was provided by live steel and salsa bands, the stage set was constructed to resemble beaches, jungles and water scenes and, instead of black cabs lined up to take guests home at the end of the night, people traveled by pedal-powered rickshaw.
Nominated charity
Any money donated by guests and any revenue generated from the Awards will be given to environmental awareness charity Healthy Planet www.healthyplanet.org, which designs and operates fun, innovative and effective ways of engaging individuals and businesses with environmental and health issues and empowers them to make positive change.
