The following lawyers have been elected Partner:
Anders T. Aannestad, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the San Diego office. Mr. Aannestad specializes in patent litigation and counseling, focused in biotechnology. He has represented clients in cases involving technology ranging from nanoparticle chemotherapeutic compounds to large synthetic polypeptides for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, as well as a variety of immunoassays, enzyme-based diagnostic assays, and DNA sequencing technologies.
Jonathan Bockman, a member of the Business Department, resident in the Northern Virginia office. Mr. Bockman specializes in patent prosecution, portfolio counseling, patent infringement and validity determinations, and patent landscaping. He has prosecuted patent applications in a wide variety of technologies including the chemical and biological arts, consumer electronics, and financial sectors.
Thomas M. Devaney, a member of the Business Department, resident in the New York office. Mr. Devaney specializes in private equity fund formation and investment, representing a variety of domestic and international private equity funds, including real estate funds, venture capital funds, and debt funds, in addition to hedge funds with a broad range of investment strategies.
Christopher B. Eide, a member of the Business Department, resident in the Palo Alto office. Mr. Eide specializes in patent prosecution, related counseling and opinion matters in a wide range of high technology fields, including data storage systems, Internet and software applications, networking, semiconductors, circuit designs, integrated circuit packaging, MEMS devices, and medical devices.
James M. Halstead, a member of the Business Department, resident in the London office. Mr. Halstead specializes in U.K.-based and cross-border corporate transactions with extensive experience in representing investors and investor syndicates on early and late stage financing arrangements, private companies seeking admission to UK public markets, and companies listed on the UK Official List undergoing public takeovers.
Rebekah Kaufman, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the San Francisco office. Ms. Kaufman specializes in the defense of consumer class actions with particular expertise in the financial services, electronics, and other consumer product industries.
David E. Melaugh, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the San Francisco office. Mr. Melaugh specializes in complex intellectual property dispute resolution, including trials and arbitration, in technologies ranging from software to medical devices and biotechnology.
James J. Mullen III, Ph.D., a member of the Business Department, resident in the San Diego office. Dr. Mullen’s practice specializes in strategic patent procurement, patent enforcement issues, reexaminations, and intellectual property due diligence studies in a variety of biotechnology-related areas, including cleantech, cancer therapeutics and diagnostics, infectious disease therapeutics, small molecule screening protocols, and novel nucleic acid and amino acid sequence protection.
Norman S. Rosenbaum, a member of the Business Department, resident in the New York office. Mr. Rosenbaum’s practice focuses on representing debtors and creditors in complex restructurings, workouts and Chapter 11 cases, with particular expertise in intellectual property transactions.
