Luce Forward Announces Firm Leadership Changes for 2009

Kicklighter begins term as Managing Partner; firm announces changes to Executive Committee and other leadership positions

SAN DIEGO (February 3, 2009 – Lawfuel) – Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps LLP, a prominent California law firm with approximately 200 attorneys throughout the state, today announced it has made a number of changes pertaining to the firm’s overall management.

Kurt L. Kicklighter has officially assumed the role of Luce Forward’s Managing Partner, succeeding Robert J. Bell. Kicklighter will serve a five-year term and was unanimously elected by the firm’s partnership in June 2008. One of his chief responsibilities will be to implement the firm’s new, long-term plan for strategic growth throughout California.

Luce Forward also announced partners Mark Hagarty and Nancy T. Scull will join the firm’s Executive Committee and John C. Callan Jr. will manage the firm’s Real Estate Practice, while Mary F. Gillick will become Co-Practice Leader of the firm’s Family Wealth and Exempt Organizations Practice.

Hagarty and Scull, both in Luce Forward’s San Diego office, will join the firm’s five-person Executive Committee and serve a three-year term. Hagarty focuses on real property litigation, including commercial landlord/tenant disputes and Scull represents commercial, industrial, retail and residential developers in all real property transactions. Luce Forward’s Executive Committee has the authority and responsibility to manage the business of the firm’s partnership, and members are elected by the firm’s partners. Other members on Luce Forward’s Executive Committee include partners Michael A. Isaacs, John W. Leslie and Kurt L. Kicklighter, as well as Chief Operating Officer Richard C. Bigelow.

In addition, Callan, who is based in Luce Forward’s San Francisco office, has been selected to lead the Real Estate Practice Group. Gillick, in the firm’s San Diego office, joins Carol K. Kao in leading Luce Forward’s Family Wealth and Exempt Organizations practice.
