Philadelphia, PA, March 2, 2009 — Greenberg Traurig attorney Kevin P. Ray, in the Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy, and Financial Institutions Practices of the Philadelphia office, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Bar Association.

The National LGBT Bar Association, an affiliate of the American Bar Association, is a national association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals, law students, activists, and affiliate lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender legal organizations. The LGBT Bar promotes justice in and through the legal profession for the LGBT community in all its diversity.

Ray focuses his practice in the areas of business reorganization, corporate work-outs and restructurings, bankruptcy law, loan restructurings, loan documentation, restructuring distressed debt situations, commercial finance, secured lending, securities law, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity. In addition to his legal career, Kevin is active in several community organizations such as the Equality Forum, where he is the Chair of the Board of Directors; and the Human Rights Campaign, where he serves as the chair of Corporate Sponsorship Committee. He holds a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.L.S., M.A., and a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
