Chicago (LAWFUEL) – Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Russell B. Selman and Bradley S. Rochlen have joined the firm’s Chicago office, working in the Environmental Regulation Practice. Prior to joining Foley, Selman and Rochlen practiced at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
Selman, who joins Foley as a partner, concentrates his practice in corporate, real estate and public utility environmental compliance and litigation matters. He has extensive litigation experience in the environmental area, having successfully led negotiations and litigation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the cleanup of the largest PCB disposal site in the nation. Selman has represented both large corporations and groups at some of the largest Superfund sites in the nation including several sites with remedial costs exceeding $100 million. He has a specialty in representing utilities with manufactured gas plants.
While at the EPA, Selman served as acting assistant enforcement counsel in Washington, D.C. for four years, where he developed legal and enforcement policies for EPA environmental programs and worked on the reauthorization of the Superfund statute. The EPA recognized his success and skill by granting him their “Special Achievement” award for litigation.
Rochlen, senior counsel with Foley, concentrates his practice in environmental litigation as well as corporate, real estate and public utility environmental compliance and litigation matters. He has extensive experience representing clients in prosecuting and defending hazardous waste control (Superfund) cases, RCRA cases and private cost recovery actions, as well as toxic tort and health and safety cases.
