Law Firm News – Luce Forward Partner Honored with San Diego County Service Award

Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, a prominent California law firm, announced Robert Buell, a Partner in the firm’s real estate transactional practice group and former Managing Partner of the firm, was recently honored by the YMCA of San Diego County with its Golden Triangle of Distinguished Service Award.

Buell has dedicated a great amount of time and attention to the YMCA and provides both leadership and direction at the organization’s meetings and events. He has served on the YMCA of San Diego County Board of Directors for the past eight years and as Board Chairman for an unprecedented four years. In addition, he has provided the YMCA pro bono legal services, high-level counsel, and national YMCA leadership. Under his guidance, the YMCA of San Diego County has become recognized for its stellar governance practices and has raised the bar for non-profit organizations.

Since 1983, the YMCA of San Diego County has bestowed the Golden Triangle of Distinguished Service Award on a few select individuals each year in the County who have demonstrated outstanding service. The award, which is presented at the YMCA’s Annual Meeting, is the organization’s highest honor and recipients are selected because of their length of service, intensity, consistent dedication and significant achievements.

Buell’s service to the YMCA of San Diego County exemplifies Luce Forward’s commitment to pro bono work. The firm has a long history of encouraging its attorneys to volunteer in the community. Another Luce Forward Partner, Ronald Rouse, received this same honor from the YMCA in 2003. Other areas in which the firm provides pro bono legal services include foster youth, HIV/AIDs, arts, affordable housing, education, senior citizens, children’s services, civil rights, military tribunals and immigrant rights.
