LawFuel.com – 19 August, 2009 – Dallas Shareholder Thomas E. Reddin has been named chair of the Labor, Employment & Immigration Practice Group at Winstead PC. He replaces Dan Dargene, who transitioned to a labor and employment law firm in Dallas. Reddin has been with Winstead since 2007 and looks forward to a tenure as the new practice group leader, continuing Dargene’s excellent work and leading Winstead’s strong team of labor and employment attorneys.
“Tom is a proven asset to our clients and our firm and we are pleased with his decision to lead the practice,” said Jay Madrid, head of Winstead’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. “As the former chair of a similar practice at his previous law firm, he has strengthened our client base and enriched our services in labor and employment law.”
Reddin has over 25 years experience in labor and employment law and came to Winstead from Godwin Pappas Ronquillo LLP, where he chaired that firm’s labor and employment section. His practice focuses on commercial and employment litigation, union avoidance, collective bargaining, and representing corporate clients in a broad range of complex business disputes, including claims for breach of contract and business tort claims.
Additionally, Reddin has significant litigation and compliance experience in employment-related statutory and regulatory areas, including those that involve the Equal Employment Opportunity Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, OSHA, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act and others. He also regularly provides risk-management counseling and litigation-avoidance training to employers in the areas of hiring, termination, anti-kickback regulations and effective workforce communications, among others.
Reddin is board certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Law Section, Employment Rights & Responsibilities Committee, ABA Advisory Panel); the State Bar of Wisconsin; the State Bar of Texas (Fellow); and the Dallas Bar Association. He also serves on the board of directors for the Greater Dallas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Reddin is Martindale-Hubbell® AV rated and has been designated a “Texas Super Lawyer” in labor and employment law for the last six years. He received his J.D. from the Marquette University School of Law.
