Law Firm News – Winston & Strawn Adds Leading International Corporate and Sourcing Practices With Addition of Attorneys

NEW YORK CITY, September 23, 2009 — LawFuel.com – Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that Glynna K. Christian and Eric W. Cowan have joined the firm as partners. Both were previously partners at Dewey & LeBoeuf, where Cowan chaired the Media and Telecommunications practice.

The addition of Christian and Cowan enhances the firm’s transnational reach in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors.

Cowan, who focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, complicated financial arrangements and sourcing transactions, will be Winston’s Global Chair of Technology, Media and Telecommunications and will be resident in the firm’s London and New York offices.

Christian structures and negotiates domestic, offshore and cross-border sourcing transactions and other complex commercial relationships such as joint ventures, strategic alliances and reseller relationships involving the creation, licensing, marketing, distribution and commercialization of information, media and technology. Her recent notable representations include advising in a $3 billion off-shore outsourcing of application development and maintenance services for a leading financial services company. Christian will be resident in Winston’s New York office and will Chair the Sourcing practice.

Christian currently serves as an advisor to the Women Rainmakers Committee of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Law Practice Management. She holds a juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Memphis, Cecil Humphreys School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Memphis State University Law Review. She holds a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of North Texas.

Cowan earned his juris doctor from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Boston University.
