The following lawyers have been elected Partner:
Lila M. Bateman, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the Denver office. Ms. Bateman specializes in complex commercial litigation, appellate litigation, and class action defense. She has represented clients in a variety of commercial contexts, including contract disputes, franchise law, financial services, products liability, and business torts.
Timothy W. Blakely, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the San Francisco office. Mr. Blakely’s practice focuses on securities litigation. He has represented numerous public companies and their officers and directors in securities class actions, derivative lawsuits, and government investigations.
David J. Fioccola, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the New York office. Mr. Fioccola’s practice focuses on securities, antitrust, fraud, and contracts litigation in federal and state courts and regulatory agencies, in both civil and criminal matters.
Masato Hayakawa, a member of the Business Department, resident in the Tokyo office. Mr. Hayakawa’s practice focuses on technology transactions. He has extensive experience in cross-border technology licensing transactions, having worked on major transactions in the United States, Asia, and Europe.
Jana W. Mansour, a member of the Business Department, resident in the New York office. Mr. Mansour’s practice focuses on project finance and development. He has advised major financial institutions, investment vehicles, trading companies, and utilities in high value cross-border and domestic project finance transactions.
Scott C. Moore, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Moore’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation with emphasis on high-technology patent litigation. He has represented clients in cases involving products and technologies ranging from telecommunications and software to medical devices and biotechnology.
Heather A. Moser, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the San Francisco office. Ms. Moser specializes in consumer class actions and product liability defense. She has represented consumer products companies, retailers, and financial institutions in product defect, false advertising, and fraud class actions.
William V. O’Connor, a member of the Litigation Department, resident in the San Diego office. Mr. O’Connor’s practice focuses on complex litigation involving products liability and high exposure insurance defense matters. He specializes in aviation matters, including treaty liability for air carriers under the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions, government investigations of major aviation accidents, and defense of mass tort litigation.
Rafael L. Petrone, a member of the Business Department, resident in the Washington D.C. office. Mr. Petrone specializes in financial transactions for lenders and borrowers. He has advised commercial lenders, investment banks, broker-dealers, investment advisors, and other entities in loan originations and secondary market loan and debt-related asset transactions.
Carley A. Roberts, a member of the Tax Department, resident in the Sacramento office. Ms. Roberts specializes in resolving state and local tax controversies through negotiation and litigation, and advising clients on the state and local tax ramifications of various business transactions. She has represented individuals and businesses in matters involving income and franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, gross receipt taxes, employment taxes, and local taxes.
Gregory Roberts, a member of the Tax Department, resident in the New York office. Mr. Roberts’s practice focuses on the resolution of state and local tax controversies concerning individuals and corporations in matters involving corporate income and franchise taxes, personal income taxes, employment taxes, sales and use taxes, and property taxes. He has also advised corporations on the state and local tax ramifications of complex business transactions and corporate restructurings.
William M. Sloan, a member of the Business Department, resident in the San Francisco office. Mr. Sloan’s practice focuses on natural resource and emission management, regulation, and litigation, with a particular emphasis on climate change, energy, and water resources. He has advised clients on carbon offset generation projects and emission reduction purchase agreements, as well as water rights and water supply assessments.
