Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com ) recommends its fiber optic fusion splicer featuring auto-check of fiber end-face, auto-calculation of the splicing loss, auto-selection of a suitable fusion program and simultaneous X and Y views. This splicer is an ideal solution for single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) fiber optic applications. It is also suited for splicing dispersion shifted, non-zero dispersion shifted, and erbium doped fibers.
This fiber optic fusion splicer, model 1202, boasts a large memory and is able to store 5,000 groups of splice results. The splicer has 5 pre-set settings and 5 user-definable settings for each of SM and MM. It displays the current time and date as well as the current operating mode. The average splicing loss is 0.01dB in multi-mode and 0.02dB in single mode; the typical splicing time is ten seconds; the typical heating time is 60s. It automatically adjusts to environmental conditions using built-in temperature, humidity and pressure sensors which provide constant feedback signals to control the fusion arc temperature.
