QUINN EMANUEL ADDS PATENT LITIGATOR & ENGINEERING PhD to NEW YORK INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PRACTICE

NEW YORK – October 18, 2010 – Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP announced today that patent litigator David Radulescu joins the firm as a partner in its New York office. With a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, Dr. Radulescu specializes in cases where a deep understanding of the interplay between technology and legal issues is critical to a company’s litigation success. He often works on matters where patent litigation is the most important risk facing a client, typically in the context of a multi-patent, multi-jurisdiction dispute with a primary competitor. Radulescu was previously a partner at Weil Gotshal & Manges.

Edward DeFranco, Co-Chair of Quinn Emanuel’s National Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, said, “David’s academic intelligence will provide those clients involved in the most complex technology patent cases with a real advantage.”

Prior to focusing his practice on patent litigation, Radulescu represented hundreds of inventors before the United States Patent Office in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

Radulescu received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Cornell University, where he authored over 25 publications in the area of semiconductor devices and materials. At Columbia University School of Law, he was a co-recipient of the 1991 graduating class Harper Prize in Intellectual Property Law.
