Clyde & Co LLP, the leading international law firm in the Middle East, has been named as 2011 Law Firm of the Year for the UAE by Who’s Who Legal, the official research partner of the International Bar Association (IBA), and has been recognised as having more leading lawyers in the jurisdiction than any other firm.
The annual awards are researched and announced by Who’s Who Legal, with the aim of providing a reference source for companies seeking to corroborate the reputations of expert lawyers recommended by another party. In the words the researchers, nominees are “selected based upon comprehensive, independent survey work with both general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide. Only specialists who have met independent international research criteria are listed”.
Who’s Who Legal is owned by Law Business Research, an independent London-based publishing group, which provides research, analysis and reports on the international legal services marketplace.
The 2011 Who’s Who Legal award is the latest in a string of regional accolades for Clyde & Co. Earlier in 2011 the firm was named as 2011 Law Firm of the Year at the annual Legal Business awards. In 2010, the firm was named as ‘Middle East Law Firm of the Year 2010’ by legal market intelligence and transaction analysis provider PLC Which Lawyer? in a process that canvassed over 5,500 legal departments worldwide.
Clyde & Co was also named in 2010 as overall UAE Firm of the Year by Asian Counsel magazine and InHouseCommunity.Com in a survey of over 15,000 in-house lawyers and company directors, as well as picking up the title of Asian Counsel Firm of the Year (UAE) for seven specialist areas of practice: Banking & Finance; Corporate / M&A; Employment / Labour; Intellectual Property / Patents; Maritime & Shipping; Real Estate / Construction; and Telecommunications / Media / Technology. The firm was also voted as ‘Most Responsive International Firm’.
