HOUSTON (July 27, 2011) — ECA Marcellus Trust I’s IPO was awarded “Energy Deal of the Year” by The M&A Advisor and ACG New York at the 2011 ACG New York Champion’s Awards at the gala held in June. The award recognized V&E’s involvement as advisor to Energy Corporation of America (“ECA”) in the completion of the initial public offering of 8,802,500 of ECA’s common units.
V&E advised ECA which sponsored the ECA Marcellus Trust I. ECA is a privately held exploration, development and production company. The initial public offering was completed in July 2010 with total gross proceeds of $176,050,000. The publicly traded royalty trust consisted of 14 producing horizontal Marcellus Shale wells and 52 additional horizontal Marcellus wells to be drilled over four years, all located in Greene County, Pennsylvania.
