Alliance Dedicated to Recovering Securities Losses of Italian Institutional Investors

NEW YORK & VERONA, Italy–LAWFUEL –Labaton Sucharow & Rudoff LLP and leading Italian law firm, Studio Legale Adami, announced today a joint alliance, dedicated to assisting Italian institutional investors to fulfill their fiduciary duties in recovering portfolio losses due to issuer fraud and mismanagement. The firms will represent Italian institutional investors in class actions and complex securities cases and provide related institutional investor services designed to preserve and, where necessary, to recover these investors assets.

Labaton Sucharow and Studio Legale Adami, headquartered in Verona, will work together to address the growing need for investor protection services in Italy. With the increase in investments by Italian institutional investors in the U.S. securities markets, combined with the level of financial fraud occurring in Italy, Europe, and the U.S., these sophisticated financial institutions now require an international perspective that will help safeguard their investments. This alliance directly speaks to that need.

“Studio Legale Adami has an enviable record of advising Italy’s largest institutional investors on matters relating to global securities fraud and the recovery of investment losses due to fraud,” said Lawrence Sucharow, managing partner of Labaton Sucharow. “We are pleased and honored that they have agreed to work with Labaton Sucharow as part of our international network of law firms and experts which will provide our growing base of European institutional investors with an international perspective on their rights and remedies when securities fraud results in material portfolio losses. Today’s global economy requires a broader awareness than national boundaries provide. We believe our arrangement with Studio Legale Adami furthers our international institutional clients’ interests with respect to the breadth and depth of the advice we can provide.”

Pietro Adami, founding member of Studio Legale Adami, which specializes in securities matters, international contracts and investment protection in Italy said, “This strategic alliance with Labaton Sucharow helps to create a fairer environment by using our legal skills to secure substantial monetary recoveries and corporate reform for our clients when they suffer losses in the U.S. securities markets due to fraud or mismanagement and seek compensation.”

Labaton Sucharow represents many of the most prestigious domestic and European institutional investors including pension funds from 13 different states, funds managed by city, county and other municipalities, banks, hedge funds, unions and major European asset managers and financial institutions. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Adami also shares his extensive knowledge and experience in international law as a Professor of Law at Padova University and as a teacher of private international law at Verona Law School.
