ALM Acquires Remaining Interest in Palawlibrary.com From Jenkins Law Library

LawFuel.com –
NEW YORK (September 20, 2010) – ALM Media, LLC, parent company of The Legal Intelligencer, Pennsylvania’s leading source of legal news and the nation’s oldest daily legal newspaper, today announced that it has completed acquisition of the remaining 50 percent interest in Palawlibrary.com formerly held by The Theodore F. Jenkins Memorial Law Library. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Palawlibrary is a website that provides easy and inexpensive access to judicial opinions, trial listings, court rules, and other legal information, including all the content in The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly. The website had previously been operated as a strategic alliance between ALM and Jenkins.

Subscriber content on the website will remain unchanged. ALM will also retain full rights to the current Palawlibrary database, which includes exclusive online access to an estimated 25,000 county cases, some of which date back to 1970.

“We expect that Palawlibrary will form a significant part of our plans for expanded online services to litigators throughout the region,” said Hal Cohen, publisher of The Legal Intelligencer and head of ALM’s Pennsylvania Newspaper Group.
