Ambassador Cain Re-Joins Kilpatrick Stockton

RALEIGH (APRIL 6 – LAWFUEL) – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that James Cain, the former United States Ambassador to Denmark, has resumed his affiliation with the firm. Mr. Cain served as United States Ambassador to Denmark from August 2005 to January 2009. He has joined Kilpatrick Stockton’s Corporate Department and will divide his time between the firm’s Washington, New York and Raleigh offices. “It is a privilege to be working again with Kilpatrick Stockton,” said Ambassador Cain. “I was seeking a professional firm with an international platform to leverage the experience, relationships and perspective I gained abroad as U.S. Ambassador, and Kilpatrick offers that platform.”

Ambassador Cain continued, “I was humbled and honored to serve my country while working with the Kingdom of Denmark to advance the interests of democracy, freedom and free markets throughout the globe. There is no greater ally or friend to the US than the wonderful people of Denmark. Though I was away from my home, North Carolina continued to be a daily part of my life. I took every opportunity to champion and promote North Carolina and its economic interests, and at last count, the family and I had over 1,000 visitors from our Home State while we were in Denmark. Now that I am back on native soil, I look forward to working with my outstanding colleagues and clients at Kilpatrick Stockton.”

Ambassador Cain worked with Kilpatrick Stockton for 15 years before serving as President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes and its parent company, Gale Force Holdings from 2000-2002. He then re-joined the firm before becoming Ambassador in 2005.

“We are thrilled to have the Ambassador back at Kilpatrick Stockton,” said Gary Joyner, Managing Partner of Kilpatrick Stockton’s Raleigh Office and Executive Committee Member. “Jim is not only a colleague and a tremendous attorney but he is a good friend. We look forward to having him as a valuable member of our team and being a firmwide resource for clients.”

Ambassador Cain has also formed his own marketing firm — Cain Global Partners, LLC – to encourage and assist foreign companies that are willing to invest in America.

“I am convinced,” said Ambassador Cain, “that today’s global climate has created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for foreign companies to invest in America, creating jobs and taking advantage of America’s long-term growth and stability. We need to let the world know that America is still the Land of Opportunity, and that we are open for business.”

Kilpatrick Stockton and Cain Global Partners will give Ambassador Cain the unique capability to both promote America and provide guidance to companies answering the call to do business here.
