NEW YORK– LAWFUEL- The US Legal Newswire –ALM’s Texas Lawyer, the state’s leading legal newspaper, today announced the publication of its new 2007 “Go-To Guide” of the state’s top attorneys in 29 key practice areas. The special, four-color magazine includes 145 lawyers, selected by the editors of Texas Lawyer based on independent staff research. The Guide covers attorneys in private practice as well as state and federal prosecutors, in categories ranging from criminal defense and bankruptcy law, to family, health and intellectual property practices. Texas Lawyer accepted nominations and spoke to hundreds of attorneys across the state and asked them who they would turn to — based on firsthand knowledge — if they needed representation in particular practice areas.
“Because Texas Lawyer has been covering the legal community for the past 22 years, we feel uniquely qualified to select and recognize some of the Lone Star State’s top lawyers,” said Colleen McGushin, editor in chief. “We knew it would be a daunting task. We reviewed 750 nominations and interviewed Texas attorneys and legal experts. We’re pleased to present the results.”
The Go-To Guide lists the name, title, firm/prosecutor’s office, city and age for each lawyer. Each practice area offers one go-to lawyer and four top-notch lawyers. The magazine includes a profile of each go-to lawyer; next to each top-notch lawyer are two comments from his or her peers. With the exception of the criminal prosecution category, The Go-To Guide does not include government, in-house or legal services lawyers.
The magazine will be distributed free to Texas Lawyer subscribers with the October 8 issue of the newspaper and will also be sent to subscribers of the paper’s bi-monthly Executive Legal Adviser magazine. For further information, or to purchase copies of The Go-To Guide, contact Dennis Weber at (214) 744-7735 or e-mail dweber@alm.com.
