Jones Day Welcomes H. Stephen Harris, Jr. as Antitrust Partner
WASHINGTON & ATLANTA–LAWFUEL – Law Newswire –The international law firm Jones Day today announced that H. Stephen Harris, Jr. has joined the Firm as a partner in the Antitrust & Competition Law Practice in the Atlanta and Washington offices. He has been widely recognized as a leading U.S. and international antitrust litigator, has considerable experience in Asia competition law and regimes, and currently serves as the International Officer of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law. With that background he will help coordinate the interface of the Firm’s global competition law practice with the Firm’s Asia competition law practices.
Mr. Harris comes to Jones Day from the Atlanta office of Alston & Bird, where he chaired that firm’s antitrust practice. He has handled numerous complex civil and criminal antitrust cases, including class actions and multidistrict litigation, in federal courts throughout the United States. In addition, he has experience in the arbitration of complex commercial disputes under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (JCAA), and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). He is a graduate of Cornell University (A.B. magna cum laude 1977) and Columbia University (J.D. 1982), where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and was certified, with honors, by the Parker Program in International and Foreign Law.

Mr. Harris is the seventh partner to join Jones Day’s global antitrust practice in the last year. His arrival follows those of Bruce McDonald, a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division who is a partner in the Firm’s Washington and Houston offices; Geoffrey Oliver, formerly head of the Anticompetitive Practices Division of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition who is a partner in the Firm’s Washington Office; and the team of William F. Dolan, Paula W. Render, Michael Sennett and Pamela L. Taylor who joined the Chicago Office as partners from Bell, Boyd & Lloyd, LLP.
