Arnold & Porter received the Chambers Award for USA Antitrust Law Firm of the Year tonight at a special ceremony honoring The Worlds Leading Lawyers held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London. It is the second such honor for the firm, which received the Chambers Award for Antitrust Law Firm of the Year in North America in 2001.
Bill Baer, head of Arnold & Porters international competition practice, attended the ceremony. We are honored by this award, Baer said which recognizes the talent and commitment of our antitrust team of more than 60 attorneys, located in the U.S. and here in London. We appreciate the willingness of our loyal clients to ask us to tackle complex, and increasingly global, competition issues.
In the recently released Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers 2003-2004, Arnold & Porters antitrust group ranked number one in Washington, D.C., and was described as elite and perfectly placed at the top of the market. Seven antitrust attorneys were ranked as Leading Individuals.
The Worlds Leading Lawyers recognizes lawyers and law firms that have been ranked highly in recent editions of Chambers UK, Chambers Global, and in the first edition of Chambers USA. Twenty-nine separate awards were given to a select group of firms from around the globe including Australia, Canada, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Africa for recognition in the areas of banking and finance, communications/intellectual property, corporate/M&A, tax, and energy, among others.
