Lawfuel – DLA Piper is pleased to announce it has won the ‘Asia Pacific Real Estate Law Firm of the Year’ award, organised by Asiacre.com. Already established as the leading real estate practice globally, this award spotlights DLA Piper’s real estate expertise as unsurpassed in the region.
The ‘Asia Pacific Real Estate Law Firm of the Year’ award is part of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Awards for outstanding and accomplished projects, firms and individuals throughout 2007. DLA Piper won the legal firm award in the Company of the Year category which also recognises the market’s top developer, investor, consultant, and professional service provider. DLA Piper was voted first-place by a jury of leading market professionals on the basis of its market contribution, quality of customer service, market innovation, commercial success, market penetration and market depth.
Mabel Liu, Partner & Head of Real Estate, Greater China, DLA Piper, accepted the award on behalf of DLA Piper at the Asia Pacific Real Estate Awards and Asia Trends 2008 conference held at The Westin Bund Centre, Shanghai, China on 10 April, 2008. Mabel was an esteemed jury member along with real estate services and investment professionals, although she did not vote for the ‘Asia Pacific Real Estate Law Firm of the Year’ category.
“This is an exciting time for DLA Piper to be at the forefront of Asia’s booming real estate sector. We are challenging ourselves constantly to provide the best counsel to clients in a sector flush with transactions, rapidly changing regulations across different jurisdictions and increasing complexity in matters from acquisitions, financing, land use to environmental law,” said Alastair Da Costa, Asia Managing Director of DLA Piper.
DLA Piper’s Real Estate group is the world’s largest and is consistently top-ranked globally with over 600 lawyers.
“This award means a lot to DLA Piper as it reflects the vote of the real estate industry, not just legal professionals. As we strive to be Asia’s leading business law firm, we continue to be industry-focused and client-focused. The real estate sector is definitely a global industry today and we are drawing on our international network from Europe and the US to Asia to offer first-class advice for clients in this dynamic sector,” Alastair added.
