ATLANTA (February 5) — Atlanta Legal Aid Society (ALAS) announced today that Kilpatrick Stockton attorney Dean Russell has been named President of the organization’s Board of Directors. Mr. Russell begins his new role on February 5.

“I have enjoyed working with Dean for many years and have seen first-hand his commitment to ALAS clients and outreach programs,” said Steve Gottlieb, Atlanta Legal Aid Executive Director. “His commitment, combined with his strong leadership capabilities, make him an outstanding choice for president.”

Mr. Russell has worked with ALAS for over 12 years and has served the organization in numerous positions, including as Treasurer and Vice-President. He has represented both ALAS clients and ALAS itself on issues ranging from adoptions to trademark registrations.

“It is an honor that Atlanta Legal Aid, an organization that does such tremendous work for so many people, has asked me to assume this responsibility,” said Dean Russell. “I look forward to working with the board of directors and all ALAS employees and volunteers.”
