TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today released the
following statement in recognition of Flag Day:
“Today our nation celebrates the American flag, the unwavering symbol of
our nation’s strength and unity. During my service in the United States
Navy, I was reminded every day of the overwhelming significance of
protecting the values our flag symbolizes.
“When we see the American flag, I encourage all Americans to remember the
heroic sacrifices made by the courageous men and women in our armed
services. These men and women fighting to preserve our country have given
us the greatest gift – the gift of freedom. Remember the importance of the
American flag, and fly your flags with dignity and pride.”
