AUSTIN, TEXAS – LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – San Antonio attorney Allan B. Polunsky has earned the Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association for his outstanding work and commitment to the mortgage banking industry.
The statewide association’s award recognizes one person each year for their extraordinary leadership and service to the association and the mortgage banking industry. Mr. Polunsky is the managing partner and founder of Polunsky & Beitel, LLP, a law firm with offices in San Antonio and Dallas that specializes in representing lenders in residential mortgage lending matters.
Mr. Polunsky was presented with the Distinguished Service Award at the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association’s 91st annual convention in Lost Pines, Texas, on June 4.

Mr. Polunsky’s work is widely respected in the mortgage and real estate industries. He was among the first attorneys in Texas to be Board Certified in Residential Real Estate Law and Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has also served as general counsel for numerous mortgage broker and banking associations including the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers.
Earlier this year, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Mr. Polunsky to the Texas Public Safety Commission. He has served on the Finance Commission of Texas and the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, as well as several committees within the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association.
Mr. Polunsky also is active in several non-profit groups and charitable organizations. He is a former board member for both the San Antonio Food Bank and Special Olympics of Texas, and he has served as chairman of the San Antonio Zoning Commission, president of the Industrial Development Authority, member of the Planning Commission and two terms on the board of the San Antonio River Authority.
