Baker & McKenzie LLP Hosts Third Annual North American Summer Associate Event in Toronto

Toronto, June 20, 2008 (LAWFUEL) – More than 85 of Baker & McKenzie’s summer associates from its Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, San Diego, San Francisco/Palo Alto, Toronto and Washington, DC offices will participate in the Firm’s third annual North American Summer Associates’ Event taking place in Toronto from June 20-21.

“For the first time, we are holding this event outside the U.S. which will give our summer associates a view of our global reach,” said Scott Brandman, Chairman of the Firm’s U.S. Hiring Committee.

During the two-day event, summer associates will meet Baker & McKenzie attorneys from a myriad of practice areas, be exposed to the Firm’s award-winning Pro Bono and Diversity Initiatives, and receive substantive skills training—all while having the opportunity to build relationships within the Baker & McKenzie community.

“A great deal of thought and effort goes into creating a well-balanced program for our summer
associates,” said John Conroy, Baker & McKenzie’s Chairman of the Executive Committee. “We are proud to provide our future colleagues with an introduction to the Firm’s distinctive global culture.”

Commenting on the event, David Hackett, North American Managing Partner, said: “We are committed to providing our talent with sophisticated learning opportunities to ensure they develop the skills and strengths necessary to succeed. By bringing together our summer associates, we create an environment allowing them to connect with their peers across jurisdictions while also providing an inside look into Firm life.”
