Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Suzette T. Rodriguez has joined the Firm as Of Counsel in the Labor and Employment group. She is based in the Firm’s Princeton, New Jersey, office.
Ms. Rodriguez joins Blank Rome from Axiom where she worked as part of the in-house legal team for a large pharmaceutical company, advising and counseling internal partners on employment law matters. Prior to that role, she served as associate counsel for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, Inc. Ms. Rodriguez advises her clients on complex employment and commercial matters, and has significant experience representing corporate clients in disputes and litigation in the areas of employment litigation, commercial litigation, franchise litigation, and enforcing intellectual property rights. She has defended investigations and claims by federal and state government agencies, regulatory authorities, and law enforcement agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and State Attorney General’s Office.
Ms. Rodriguez has guided HR professionals on various employment issues, including hiring, background checks, employee relations, disciplinary matters, terminations, leave, wage and hour issues, and other sensitive situations. She has also managed investigations regarding employee complaints and/or reports of employee misconduct, discrimination, and sexual harassment. Additionally, Ms. Rodriguez has enforced and defended non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, including disputes regarding theft of trade secrets and proprietary information.
Admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the U.S. District Court for New Jersey, Ms. Rodriguez received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law in Newark and her B.A., cum laude, in English Literature from CUNY Hunter College. Ms. Rodriguez is actively involved in her community and within the legal industry at large. She currently serves as a public board member and chair of the Finance Committee of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority, of which she also serves as secretary. She previously served as president of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey and, prior to that role, served as deputy regional president of the Hispanic National Bar Association (Region III). She is also a former advisory board member of NJ LEEP, a college access and success program serving students and families in the greater Newark area. Ms. Rodriguez previously served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Travis L. Francis, J.S.C., New Brunswick, New Jersey, in the Chancery Division, General Equity.
