NEW YORK CITY, May 19, 2009 — Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that David B. Hertzog has rejoined the firm’s New York’s office as of counsel. Hertzog focuses his practice on a wide range of corporate matters, including financial transactions, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity. He was a founder and name partner of Hertzog, Calamari & Gleason, which merged with Winston & Strawn in 1999.

After leaving Winston, Hertzog was vice president and served as general counsel to Allegheny Energy, Inc., a NYSE-listed utility company, in 2003 and 2004. In addition, he worked as a private equity firm consultant and held several other financial advisory positions in the private sector, in which he counseled on acquisitions, financings, financial reporting, and operational matters. He was also previously a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
Hertzog is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section on Corporation, Banking, and Business Law and its Section on Natural Resources. In addition, he is a director of the New York Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League and is accredited to teach “Private Equity—Legal and Practical Aspects,” a New York CLE program. Hertzog received a juris doctor, cum laude, from New York University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
