Bryan Cave LLP Adds Four Partners in the U.S. and China

ST. LOUIS, April 1, 2008 – LAWFUEL – The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP (www.bryancave.com) has added four new partners in offices throughout the U.S. and China. They are:

David Beauchamp, Phoenix

David Beauchamp will practice with the Transactions and Corporate Finance group. Beauchamp’s practice focuses on areas of corporate law, securities, venture capital and private equity transactions with an emphasis on financing, acquiring or developing technology and biotechnology and other emerging growth companies. He represents venture capital, private equity firms, and their emerging growth portfolio companies, as well as entrepreneurs and emerging growth companies. Beauchamp is active in structuring and drafting financial investments, shareholder agreements, limited liability corporate operating agreements, stock options and executive compensation plans, joint ventures, licensing agreements and routine business contracts. Beauchamp received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1981 and his M.P.P. in 1980 and his A. B., with distinction, in 1978 from the University of Michigan.

Peter Chow, Hong Kong

Peter Chow is a member of the International Transactional and Arbitration groups. Chow’s practice focuses on international arbitrations and complex construction disputes, particularly those involving infrastructure, energy/resources and building projects in the Asia Pacific region. He previously led the China construction practice in a major U.S. firm. Chow received his LLB with honors in 1989 from the National University of Singapore.

Edward Hejlek, St. Louis

Edward Hejlek practices with the firm’s Intellectual Property group. Hejlek’s extensive patent practice has focused on the pharmaceutical and life sciences areas, performing work for major corporate and university clients. He was responsible for the successful prosecution and licensing of the famous Taxol anti-cancer drug process patents, which have garnered more than $350 million for Florida State University. This represents one of the most lucrative single technology licensing programs, ever, by a university. Additionally, he recently served as outside patent counsel to Ilypsa in connection with its patent portfolio and $420 million acquisition by a major pharmaceutical company. Beyond his experience in the life sciences field, Hejlek is also an expert in patenting semiconductor silicon technology. Hejlek received his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1981 and his B.A. in chemical engineering from Washington University in 1978. He serves as an adjunct professor of patent law at Saint Louis University School of Law.

Joshua Sable, Santa Monica

Joshua Sable will head the employment litigation practice as a member of the Labor and Employment group.
Sable has substantial experience counseling and representing clients before state and federal agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Division of Fair Employment and Housing, National Labor Relations Board, Department of Labor and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. He is also an experienced litigator, having taken several employment and other cases to juries. Sable received his J.D. from the University of California-Los Angeles and his B.A. from Tufts University.
