California Metro Bus Slams Into Restaurant

According to reports a Metro bus accident Sunday closed down the northbound lanes in the vicinity of Rosemead Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard.  It is reported that the crash occurred and was reported at approximately 11:10 a.m. according to the California Highway Patrol logs.

The Metro bus drove through a large plate glass window, prior to the accident the Metro bus was in the southbound lanes on Rosemead Boulevard and swerved into the northbound lanes when it struck the Jack in the Box restaurant.

There were no customers seated in the area at the time and no passengers on the Metro bus at the time of the crash according to statements from Lisa Derderian spokesperson for the Pasadena Fire Department. The accident occurred at Jack in the Box fast food restaurant at 30 N. Rosemead in the vicinity of Pasadena.

The Metro bus driver who has only been identified as female was transported to the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Derderian also stated that firefighters were in the area and at the scene of the accident in approximately 30 seconds. She also stated that the estimated damage to the Jack in the Box restaurant is about $200,000.
