CHICAGO, May 1 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP was appointed interim lead class counsel on Monday, May 9, 2005, in a case on behalf of employees, participants and beneficiaries of AON Corporation’s 401(k) savings plan against AON (NYSE: AOC) and certain of its corporate directors and officers for breaching their fiduciary duties to the plan
participants and violating the Employee Retirement Income Security Act
(“ERISA”).

In making the appointment, United States District Judge Charles R. Norgle
noted that Wolf Haldenstein has “committed considerable time and resources
into investigating these claims. [The firm] is experienced in handling
complex, large-scale class actions involving … ERISA matters, and the
conduct of corporate officers. While lead counsel, Wolf Haldenstein has
settled numerous class actions, resulting in recoveries of up to $715 million
for class members. In addition, Wolf Haldenstein is a large firm with offices
in New York, Chicago, San Diego and West Palm Beach. Wolf Haldenstein thus has
the resources necessary to adequately represent the putative class members in
this case.”

The Court also consolidated twelve related actions. This case is captioned
“In Re AON ERISA Litigation,” Master Docket No. 04C6875, and is pending in the
United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
