CHICAGO (October 8, 2006) — LAWFUEL – Law News Network – The Chicago office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the addition of eight intellectual property lawyers, including five partners, one counsel and two associates to its Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department. This group brings the Firm’s Chicago intellectual property practice to nearly 30 lawyers. Partners Daniel Christus, Jeffrey Gargano, Matthew Gryzlo, Brent Hawkins and Peter Siavelis; counsel Monique Morneault, and associates Brett Bachtell and Alissa Misun, have joined McDermott’s Chicago intellectual property practice from the Chicago intellectual property boutique law firm of Wallenstein & Wagner.

The lawyers have excellent IP capabilities and experience. The team, which includes two chemical engineers, three mechanical engineers, one electrical engineer and one microbiologist will complement the skills and experience of our firm-wide intellectual property lawyers. The Firm’s Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department already includes more than 130 lawyers with technical or scientific degrees, including more than half with a degree in electrical engineering, biotechnology, chemistry or other technical disciplines, such as computer engineering.
