New York and Moscow – March 28, 2011 – Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is pleased to announce that Natalia A. Drebezgina, Michael Schaper and Shannon Rose Selden will become partners of the firm, effective July 1, 2011. Ms. Drebezgina is resident in the Moscow office and Mr. Schaper and Ms. Selden are resident in the New York office.
Natalia A. Drebezgina, based in the firm’s Moscow office, is a member of the Corporate Department. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and securities law, and capital market transactions, with a focus on the metals and mining sector. Ms. Drebezgina joined the firm in 2004. She graduated with honors from Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO), International Law Faculty (2002).
Michael Schaper, based in the firm’s New York office, is a member of the Litigation Department. His practice focuses on various types of complex civil litigation, including in the areas of antitrust and intellectual property law, as well as merger review and other antitrust counseling. Mr. Schaper joined the firm in 2001. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School (2001), where he received the Edwin F. Mandel Award for outstanding contribution to the school’s clinical education program, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Tufts University (1998).
Shannon Rose Selden, based in the firm’s New York office, is a member of the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on securities litigation, general commercial litigation and corporate governance. Ms. Selden joined the firm in 2001. From January 2003 to January 2004, she clerked for the Honorable Denise Cote, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School (2001), where she was the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Journal of Law & the Humanities, and her B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Amherst College (1998).
