Dentons in “Fearsome Five” Litigation List

Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, for a second year running has been selected as a member of an exclusive group of law firms in the most recent survey on litigation trends by BTI Consulting.

The BTI “Fearsome Five” is an honor bestowed upon elite law firms for their intense approach and fierce tactics in today’s competitive legal market.

BTI observes that these are “firms striking the utmost fear into the hearts of seasoned General Counsel and legal decisions makers. The BTI Fearsome Five are the firms clients tell us they least want to see on the other side of the table in litigation.”

Dentons earned top honors as a “Powerhouse” in all eight litigation categories measured by BTI: Intellectual Property, Class Actions, Securities and Finance, Complex Employment, Everyday Employment, Product Liability, Complex Commercial, and Everyday Commercial Litigation.

Last year, for the first time, Dentons was included among the BTI Consulting’s “Fearsome Foursome” in the 2016 version of the report. This is the first time in seven years that five firms were honored by BTI.

The 2018 BTI ranking is based on an in-depth telephone survey of 350 general counsel and in-house litigation heads at large organizations with US$1 billion or more in revenue. The survey was conducted between February 20 and July 3, 2017. Researchers asked legal decision-makers which law firms they would least like to see as opposing counsel. The research is independent and unbiased—no law firm or organization other than BTI sponsors this study. Participants are granted confidentiality.
