DLA Phillips Fox Act On Liquorland Purchase by Foodstuffs – See LawFuel Legal Announcements

DLA Phillips Fox says the purchase of the Liquorland national liquor chain by New Zealand’s largest supermarket group, Foodstuffs, is an excellent strategic acquisition for the Foodstuffs Group.

Partner Martin Wiseman, who headed the team acting for Foodstuffs in the purchase of all of the shares in Liquorland Limited from DB Breweries Limited, said the transaction went smoothly due to Foodstuffs deep understanding of the needs of owner operators and DB’s desire to look after the long term needs of the Liquorland franchisees.
Liquorland has 70 stores. Foodstuffs already has a presence in stand alone liquor through its Henry’s and Duffy & Finn’s brands. Senior Associate Reuben Woods led the legal negotiations with assistance from Senior Solicitor Julie Harper.

The sale price has not been revealed.
